O2Ring Device

O2Ring Recording Continuous Pulse Oximeter with Vibration Alarms

The O2Ring is designed to accurately measure oxygen saturation (SpO2%) and heart rate data during use. It can be worn on any finger and allows data recording without the need for a bulky sensor covering the fingertip, unlike traditional oximeters.

This unit seems to work well and is easy to use. In my case it seems to work better on my thumb than other fingers. The software which I run on my desktop works well also.

Helpful Little Device
This device has FDA 510(k) clearance, meaning that the FDA determined that the device was substantially equivalent to a predicate device, not “FDA approval.Readings fluctuate widely when on a brisk walk, but are consistent at rest or during sleep. If it had a chest strap to record respirations as well, it would be incredibly useful for sleep apnea screening. I have a FDA-cleared fingertip pulse oximeter and the two devices usually provide the same reading or are off by 1%.I have small fingers (ring finger is 4.5) and it fits my index finger. It is comfortable and remains in place during sleep. It would be helpful to have better guidance on result interpretation. For example, how much of a heart rate change is anticipated with desaturations? The percentage of time in each saturation category a precise number rather a bar graph. The PDF reports are beautiful, but I am left with good data that I don’t know how to interpret correctly.

easy to use for monitoring apnea
this is a great device for finding out how often your o2 dropped overnight. it is comfortable and therefore does not keep me awake. And the app for viewing the results is pretty good too. One charge lasts two nights.
