FINGER PULSE OXIMETER
INFORMATION
Fingertip
pulse oximeters are portable, easy to carry and typically used for spot checks
(quick readings), measuring oxygen saturation (SpO2%) and heart rate (BPM). Respiration
rate (RR) in breaths per minute can be measured with the Masimo 9909 oximeter.
SELECTING THE RIGHT FINGER PULSE OXIMETER
Adult or Pediatric- Finger pulse
oximeters can be used on most pediatrics to adults. For pediatrics, the child’s finger must be
large enough to reach the light sensor inside the oximeter and provide enough
surface area on the fingertip to acquire a quality reading. Typically, most
children over 50 pounds can use finger oximeters. The Nonin 9590 finger pulse oximeter can work
on pediatric/infant toes or fingers if the size is the thickness of a number 2
pencil or larger. No other finger oximeter can work on digits that small.
Wireless Bluetooth - Fingertip
oximeters with Bluetooth can connect to an iPhone/IOS or Android device and
send readings for review. The Nonin Connect and Masimo MightySat (9809/9909) stream
real-time data to an iPhone. Wireless
finger oximeters can be used just like a standard oximeter and do not require
an iPhone/Android app to be used.
Hospital Grade - Nonin and Masimo pulse oximeters are used in hospitals and
clinical settings throughout the world. They use the same hospital grade
technology in their line of finger oximeters.
